Grief comes in so many forms and is shaped by our past experiences.  

It is the result of losing something of value to us. 

Anytime we lose someone, something or even ourselves the feeling left inside us is grief.

It is a useful guide in the training of new practitioners and staff supporting people with life challenges and the team as a whole.  It also assists in ameliorating the adverse impact of the work on experienced professionals. 

Working in the mental health field myself, I recognise the multiple pressures on service providers.  I  can see, and have personally experienced, the benefit of regular group and individual supervision.  Supervision creates a space to share concerns along with ideas and solutions.
